removing release lever pivot shaft??

According to Clarkes, I need a 8mm x 150mm bolt to remove this. The problem is I can't find this size bolt at my local hardware store. Is there a universal tool that I can rent at my local autoparts store? Any other way of removing this?
Thank you.

The shaft has a threaded hole in the end. I thread a screw in the hole and use my slide hammer to tap it out. Make sure to have the setscrew taken out before you try to remove the shaft.

How long was the bolt that you used?

I just used the longest bolt I could find at the local Ace store.

It was long enough.

The one I use is only about 4". I screw it in, then clamp onto it with vise grips, and then beat on the vise grips with a hammer. Works like a charm.
