Porsche Crest Cruise Control

Many thanks to all you guys for your help, you are great. I need help again. My 1984 944 NA has no cruise control even though the harness in the engine is there with the plug , located where the unit should be (right side in front of battery).
Can you please tell me all the parts I need for a complete working installation and what years cars would have the parts I need? Thanks again, George.

Not completely sure on the earlies, but at a minimum you need the servo that goes in the engine bay, the cable that goes to the gas pedal, the little tie-in for the gas pedal (Very hard to find, from what I hear), the computer brain, and a new stalk with the CC option.

Good luck, Keith

I've got all the pieces needed but the parts came out of a late Turbo car. I'm unsure if your early car will have the appropriate wiring for the control box and stalk.

Hi Vic,

if that won't work for George, would it work on an 88 NA? If he isn't interested I may be, I still have not determined why my CC works only intermittently.

Read Clark's Garage on it. It is probably some bad solder joints in the brain....

The CC in my 89 turbo also only works intermittently. I already had the steering column apart to check the stalk switch, and it tested out OK. I'm going to check the brake and clutch switches, and if they test OK, I will have to assume it's the bad solder joint mentioned in this thread (I'm going over to check out the link now).

Thank you guys. After all the problems I hear on the C.C. I decided to leave the car as it left the assembly line. Without it. I have enough to deal with. If Nate wants it he can have it. Thanks again, you guys are great.
George.
