Weird sound when putting it into neutral coming to a dead stop...
So I finally got my car back on the road after a major repair and I am still working out all the glitches, I think this is the last one I am going to encounter for a while. Down to business, when I am coming to a complete stop, say a red light and I am about to put it in neutral, when I push in the clutch pedal and start releasing it I hear a clunk below the car. I dont know what it could be and I feel completely stumped, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I hope not, I just replaced that prior to my accident, but then again that was a year ago and the car sat for repairs, I'm hoping dry rot did not take over.

Exhaust pipe hitting the bottom of the car? Does it only do it in neutral or any time you let the clutch out?

A guy in Australia had a similar problem on his 1986 944 turbo - read under the headings "Initial Condition" and "Initial Work" at the following link. There is a picture there too
