Stickies!!
Just swooped some Hoosier R3503's mounted off craigslist for a steal. Normally ~250 a tire...I got 4 on a set of 16" 944 rims for 370. They have 2 heat cycles on them- a 10 and a 15 lap session (plus they were tirerack heat cycled)...before they were stored in a garage. and no abnormal wear or damage! The rims alone are worth that. Unfortunately they are polished- nothing says "track day" like some bling...right?
Oh well, thats what rattle cans are for- white perhaps?

I was just looking at that listing the other day. Seems like I saw it in the SF Bay area section. I will be going on vacation there next week and was trying to see what I could pick up while I was there. Good find.

LOL...Yea VII, Bay Area region. Nice guy too. On a side note: I really don't like the polished, but painting chrome looks terrible. I am considering any 16" rim trades if someone wants the chrome rims, to save me the hassle of sticking some paint on em.

i would leave them polished - very easy to spot brake pad wear without having to deal with the mess - also, polished rims dissipate heat better, and are lighter
besides, painted rims are so 80's - nobody does that anymore unless they can't afford to have polished rims Last edited by flash968; 06-30-2009 at 06:38 PM.. |
