Cover over heater and AC blower motors

Hello all,

There is a thin plastic cover over the fan motor and other heat/AC system there. It is behind and above the firewall and goes back close to below the windshield. The question is how does one remove this cover to repair/replace the parts under it. It seems as if it is glued in place and quite thin and easy to tear up .

Help.

Thanks

I've never had mine off, but I think you need to remove the wipers.

Depending on what year model your car is, Haynes may help.

Clarks-garage.com might help. Haynes will have you chase your tail for two hours before you finally give up and use that overpriced thing for what is really good for. A WHEELCHOCK.

I think you have to pull the wipers and that rubber gasket on top of the firewall off to get that out.

Oh George you were looking for green font there.

Early car - two fasteners, one on each front corner (kinda - it's rounded at the front) and then cut the sealant with a sharp utility knife. Glue it back in when you're finished. Good time to replace the capacitor and oil the blower motor bearings, if they've got enough life left in them.

Thumbs up

Hello all,

I have a late 944 (1985.5), so the cover is stuck on with double sided tape?
Take off the windshield wipers and proceed with caution - Thanks for all of the comments .
