fuse for lights?
is there a fuse for the light mechanism, the lights turn on but the mechanism itself wont go. if there is which one is it?

I don't know what year, pre 85.5 or 85.5 to newer. On the early 944 in the upper fuse bank, fuse #1 is 8 amp for retractable head lights. On 85.5 up, it is fuse #2 & 25 amp.

There is also a relay that plugs directly into the headlight motor.
