Slave Cylinder Dustboot keeps tearing? Help :(:(

So to start i have a 84 944. Which was running fine lost clutch pressure about two weeks ago. Noticed fluid pouring out of my bell housing when clutch pumped assumed
clutch slave cylinder pulled it off and dust boot was torn around the top loop bought rebuild kit because slave cylinder seemed otherwise fine replaced dust boot and reinstalled and it ripped again replaced it again thinking i hadn't lubed it well enough but it ripped again planning on replacing the entire slave cylinder now but don't know why the dust boot would be ripping and if the new part is just going to be ripped too any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

dev1585,

If you are describing the outter seal in the picture...

My Guess is the clutch MC is forcing the inner brake fluid seal to be pushed beyond what is normal and then the outter seal rips. Check the linkage above the clutch petal. It is described in the Haynes book.

You may have problems in the bell housing. Check your clutch disc for wear limits.
Here is a page from www.Clarks-Garage.com that shows how to measure the clutch disc. A new disc is about 18mm. A badly used disc is about 38mm.

Reference slave cylinder.
