where can I find 5x130 wheels that accept hubcaps?

Need some wheels that will fit the late offset 944, 8 inches or wider and able to accept hubcaps. 15" or 16" would be best. Do they make anything that would work? I'm flexible on my parameters as I believe my choices to be slim. I'm a vintage salt flats racer fan and would love to put some 16" moon discs on the 944 but I'm sure I'll be stuck with what I have on there now. I may consider attatching a set to my spare phone dials if I have no other option.

I'm sure someone won't be able to resist the urge to tell me their opinion on my preference but I'll go ahead and save them the trouble of responding by stating that I only need to know how I can find the wheels, if at all possible; opinions are not neccesary. Thanks a million.

I think the only thing Porsche ever made that would accept hubcaps is the '60's 911 steel wheels but those might be pretty rare and expensive, I don't know. Pretty sure porsche are the only ones to use 5 x 130. Another thing to look for are the 928/944 "Flat Dish" wheels, sometimes referred to as manhole covers. They don't look exactly like the moon caps but will have the same aero effect and are available in 7x16, 52mm offset.

Otherwise you might have to get some custom steelies made by Weld or someone. Then you could specify widths and offsets

I figured I would be out of luck unless I had something custom made. I have seen where people attatch them to factory alloy wheels of some kind with brackets from the back of the wheel and if I become desperate maybe I'll give that a try. I would just drill holes in the alloy wheels but that's not a very good idea unless you're working with steelies.

I'm pretty sure there are a couple Mercedes and VW models that use 5x130 but I really need something that will safely accept at least a 225 tire with the correct fitment but it is unlikely the fancier models have stock steelies. The manhole covers aren't too far from what I'm interested in but would much prefer a set of 18" moon discs or these bad boys that I cannot find anywhere... ![]() Thanks for advice :0) |

				Gottis

If you can find an old set of Gotti 2-piece wheels (must be some on this board), then you can most likely use the 14" full moon (Jegs) and attach it to the center piece. It should look a lot like your photo.

http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q_how_to/wheels/touareg.htm http://www.hartmannwheels.com/1-425-895-0000/html_wheels/Porsche/3 They both state that there are porsche wheels that fit audi, VW and Porsche. Perhaps it is only the SUVs that can swap wheels? *It looks as though there are no Audi's with 5x130, it is just a popular conversion to use the 5x130 adapters. Also, it is apparently only the Cayenne and Touareg that share the 5x130. I'm assuming the SUV wheels will not fit the passenger cars? Regardless, they would not work for my Moon Disc idea. Thanks for shattering my last ounce of hope.

I checked into this myself when I needed to get a set of wheels to mount winter tires on. There is 1 vw model and 1 mercedes model (both SUVs) that use the porsche pattern. Other than aftermarket wheels, that's it for 5x130mm pattern.
