Another New Guy!

I recently snagged an 86 944 89K miles. This is my first Porsche and I absolutely love the handling and the go she has.
I am either refurbishing the teledials or getting some 17" boxster rims....Is there anyone out there totally against that? If so for what reason!
Unfortunately for me I have been gone 5 out to the 7 months I've owned her, so I really haven't had the time to do basic jobs (Oil change, changing tranny fuild, etc.) that I want. Not that it needs to be done now, but I am not sure when it was previously done.
Looking forward to asking a lot of questions as I try to tackle some jobs on my own.

Welcome to the forum BoomOP944! Nice ride. As I'm sure you know, there are several schools of thought on wheels and rims, some like only the Porsche rims, others not so much, lol... I am not a fan of the phone dials, but I do like the Fuchs and definitely I like the 17 inch Boxter rims. Do what you like to the car to give it your personalized touch is what I think. In the words of Ricky Nelson You can't please everyone so you got ta please yourself...
This forum has some of the best tech guys you'll ever find to help you along. Good luck with the car!

I think that in order to fit the Boxster wheels you'll need spacers, which aren't cheap. They do look good, though.

Personally, I prefer the Fuchs wheels the most. Congrats on the purchase though!

Nice car! Congrats on your purchase. I envy your high-bolstered sport seats I'd go with the 17's Since nobody else has mentioned it, Clark's Garage Home Page will now be your bible. The site is amazing, you can pretty much do anything to your car as long as you have internet access. Good luck with your car, and I know you'll enjoy it.

First welcome to Pelican ,love your car interior & the exterior color ,had the same but an 83 (platinum metz ).I don't want to be a party broker here but if it was my choice I,ll either go fuch -black with polish lip or design 90 in the 16" they will look great on your car,in the 17" personally I,ll chose a Cup 1 wheel any day over a boxster one for a 944,but at the end it does come down to taste & like smokin_944 said it's your car. Here is some exemple that you migth look good on your car

Fuchs-16"_ my ex 944
Turbo twist 17"Cup1-17"Design 90-16"

This is the why I was so eager to join the forum. Thanks for the welcome. I should be home by the end of this month, so hopefully I would have found some wheels by then. I will be sure to show what I ended up going with.
Born2bWild thanks for the website.
