Quickest way to replace driving light on 951
My right driving light is out, so I took off the corner covers in hopes to see a mounting bracket for the lens. Nope.
What is the easiest way to replace the bulb without having to take out the entire assembly? |

Gee Perry, are you aiming to take over Tabor's position as master dope!
![]() Can't believe YOU can't figure this out. Once you have those plastic edge pieces out, there are 4 corner screws that release the lens & reflector assembly. Don't monkey with the aiming screws, which are interior to the corners. And I doubt you have driving lights ... just fogs, unless you got the euro light which has two working lights per lens. Don't put in over a 55 watt H-3 bulb in that fog. And replace the other side at the same time if you have run them for over 200 hours. Remember, NO finger oil on the bulb glass! ![]() Last edited by IceShark; 11-12-2001 at 06:56 PM.. |

I've got a kinda cool option, My PO put Pia Driving lights inside the lens where the driving lights should be. It's pretty cool to have like 100watts there as well as the fogs..

Master dope... no, just smokin' it. Serious, the exhaust is getting to me. Still don't have her tuned just right.
I did a quick "lets see" before I left for work this morning. I thought that there would be a hold down spring or something. (screws in this place). I was running late and wanted to hit up the Pep Boys on the way in for the bulbs. I was taking the Craig route and being lazy. Thanks for the tip! I also was pondering a way of getting another bulb in the blank lens, but not too sure on how it would look. We shall see. |

Perry, you need a reflector in the driving light side along with the aim adjustment mechanism. The euro version of the light has these. Places sell this euro lens for about $125 a copy. I have this and it works pretty good with 100 watt bulbs.
85944na, I'm in the same area as you. |
