A Cabriolet Question - Rear Seat Space...
I just saw an ad on ebay and it raised a question...is there more space for the rear passangers in a cabriolet 944?? The coupe has ZERO real space for any passanger over 3 years old.

My boys were ok up until they were around six or seven. (I did the rear seat conversion for 968s from the old 968.net site).

It seems to me that there's less room with the top up and possibly a bit more with the top down. After my son turned about 7 or 8 he could only fit in the back with the top down.

They seem to be the same to me. Although, I have not ever really look at Cab Vs Coupe when I had both at the same time. I say they are the same my mom who is 5' 4" says they are the same to her. She does like the 911s back seat better though more room

I have had both - the space is almost the same.
You can fit an adult (very cramped) for shorter rides. I do it myself sometimes in my S2 convertible. Children up to 7-9 years should be OK. The seats a poorer in my Carrera, but there is more room. |

My 6 year old fits fine in the back. Of course, this also depends on how far back the front seats are. Its a 2+2 afterall, not a full size sedan
I would imagine the cab to have less shoulder room. Legroom looks about the same. How big a person you trying to fit back there?

I find that my 996 has more space in the rear seats for taller children than my 944S2. Now with that said, I still have my 8 & 5 year old boys sit in the back easily....and that's with me (6'2") driving. Great cars!

the seat space in a cab is exactly the same longitudinally, as all cabs started out as hardtops
vertically, would be a good question, but i would say the cab had less (albeit marginally) with the top up be aware that many states will prohibit children below a certain age or weight from sitting in the rear seats though, due to the lack of shoulder belts, which cannot be safely installed |
