Missing unknown roof piece. Help

Hi,

I am missing a roof piece in the interior. I have no idea what it should look like or what it's called. Could you help me identify it? It is on the sunroof, inside, in the center front. There are 4 holes in a triangle. It is an 89 944 NA.

Also, I'd love to buy it from Pelican if they have it. Is it this? (but it says up to 88 only)

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 944-564-223-00-01C-OEM

Thanks !

Here is an image where something is missing:

Looking at PET, that looks right. I was thrown by the title on Pelican, "plastic roof guide," because the piece is a very strong piece of metal (at least on my 924S), but I think they just have it mislabled.

Looks like it might have some special fasteners, too, might as well get those while you are at it.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Update: I have received the parts from Pelican.

The metal "roof guide" fits between the roof metal frame and the lining. However, the middle fastener is kind of short, and has to sit below the lining when installed.

Anyway, there are still 4 ugly holes on the interior side of the roof, even with the above parts installed (see photo). It looks like i'm still missing some parts.

Anybody would care to send me a picture of what it looks like in their car? (mine is 89 NA if it matters).

Thanks.

On my 85.5 NA, 3 of the holes had a small plug inserted into them like a screw cover with a small tube portion extending down into the hole. The hole in the middle was uncovered. I spent this last week working on the sunroof since it didn't work (just got the car a few weeks ago so all of this is new to me) so a picture will definitely help me too. Whatever the missing plastic piece might be, it appears it might not be critical as now my sunroof works.

Here's what mine looks like.

In addition to the parts Rasta noted it appears the center fastener is 311 867 167 with a cap 311 867 169 in black(01C), brown(90V) or burgundy
There is also a cap for the 3 other fasteners as noted by Rasta 944 564 233 00 in the same color choices.

ddbach, that is some very precise and useful information ! Thank you so much.

Can I ask you how you found out the part numbers? And if you have any idea where I could buy them?

Thanks again.

I studied the parts catalog and noticed these had color choices which made it easier for me to interpret the diagram.
The catalog can be found here:
http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/E_944_88_KATALOG.pdf
or if it's missing (it was down for a while end of the year) www.TexasBlake.com | Porsche 944 951 | Suzuki Samurai | Garage Tech, he has it posted there too.
I saved a copy to my computer.
Could try the parts numbers here @ Pelican, check with a dealer or maybe a salvage yard? I don't know how reusable these might be. The flat ones feel kinda thin when I pressed on them.

Good luck
