My clutch findings

I started yesturday night, took acouple hours to drop the trans and about an hour for the exhaust and torque tube. I started the bellhousing this morning. the PO only had two bellhousing bolts in. He didn't even bother bolting the left side down. But now for the fun, A BENT FORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why the sob? Found your problem, and it's a cheap scrapyard fix.

I noticed that there is some damage to the PP fingers from the throw out bearing, and the TO bearing has about 2mm of play in all directions. I'm going to replace the TO with a new one, but what do you guys think about the PP?

in the released state, there should be some play, just a little, when the clutch pedal is released/ is out. this is your clutch pedal play. when the clutch is DISENGAGED the TO bearing should not be riding on the PP. otherwise it would wear out much sooner. When the clutch pedal is depressed, it contacts the PP, and compresses the springs so you can shift.

You might want to search here for play and clutch arm because i think there is a bushing that sometimes fails on the arm shaft.....seems like i read about it a couple times. if your TO bearing shaft seems tight and no metal particles, i would go ahead.

Are you sure you don't mean, ENGAGED (no pressure on the pedal)?
