Lowering my n/a
Hey guys:
I want to lower the back of my n/a. I need to pull the torsion bars and re-index them. There was an excellent article on this but I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Janlshank944@aol.com fireboss |

Fireboss:
Be careful with lowering your car! The front suspension (control-Arms) of the newer cars were aluminum, and over time, would develop stress fractures. Lowering your car just fatigues these pieces all the more! They aren't cheap to replace: about $250.00 each. I heard a horror story of a guy who was at a DE with his lowered 944. The suspension blew, the whole front wheel assmby dropped down, and tore up the side of his car. Just make sure your control arms are in good shape.... -Z. |

Ditto for the above, with increased caution on the 86 model year cars with factory control arms.
