Replacing ball joints on non-replaceable 968 control arms?

From what I can surmise, the 968 control arms and all control arms manufactured after 1998 are labeled as "Non-rebuildable." I know there are some pretty resourceful guys out there and am wondering if anyone has figured out a way to replace the ball joints on the "non-replaceable ball joint" control arms from a 968.

i have heard that there is now a way - pete at rs barn knows about it - i have not yet had time to find out any more detail though
