I updated and moved my webpage as well!

I redid my homepage, and moved it onto tripod.com since they give me 5X the space that @home does. Because I have a lot more space to play with, I didn't have to downsize my page like I originally thought...no, far from it...I put 5X the amount of car pictures I had on there before, including some new pictures of naked chicks on/in a 944, doubled my coolstuff section, added a few pictures of me, added a new section about me (its not done yet...I just put a few pictures of me on there in the mean time), added a detailed history of all the cars I have ever owned, each with 1 or 2 entertaining stories about stuff I did on/in/with the car, cleaned up the directory structure (not that you all would ever notice), spit-shined what I thought may have been lacking, and did a few other things.

I still have a lot of work to do, but I made major headway, and it all should work. Short term plans are to put up a few small videos I have come across that I think are too cool to pass up, add some MP3's, add a lot more written content, and complete the "about me" section, not that anybody would want to read it.... I also plan on putting together a short video clip (3 or 4 minutes) in the near future with lots of time compression and other cool special effects, complete with a soundtrack. In the meantime, check it out...if the first link doesn't work, try the second link:

hotspoons.tripod.com

hotspoons.tripod.com/index.htm

Let me know what you all think, or if you have any pictures, sounds, or short video clips that you think my site would benefit from, shoot me an e-mail @ richietommy@hotmail.com. I hope you all enjoy....

---edit----

Well...I was FTPing this up, and it stopped halfway through because I had spaces in a couple of file names...I'm going to fix what was screwy and try to upload it again...check back in 1/2 an hour.

Chris...I added your page at the top of the personal pages section of my car links earlier this week. I think it is working now (if you visit http://hotspoons.tripod.com , my page comes up...the pictures are still in the process of being FTPed up, so there are red xes everywhere pictures should be...but not for long), and I found 15 file names that had spaces in them, as well as an entire directory! I fixed all of that, and it appears to be going up smoothly. The only problem is that they want to put a banner ad in my navigation frame, forcing me to put ugly scrollbars on it...does anybody know a way around this? Probably not. Chris...did you buy space from them because I didn't notice any ads on your site?

Never mind...I found that under my account options I can change it from banner ads to pop up ads...I just changed it to a pop up so it doesn't screw with my frames.

Allright! Its all up there and everything works. It is such a pain in the ass how tripod doesn't let you use certain characters for filenames, but after getting it all straightened out, it is looking good. Go check it out and tell me what you think.

I'm just dissapointed that the guy who discovered the indian superman never gets mentioned, ditto for the 951 porn...

Props on the other nudity shots containing 944s, the general picture section (a few too many japanse cars for my taste though), and a good 'e-mail' me pic, certainly cooler than the 'mug shot' you used to have...

Nice page overall though, I like it better than the old one. Oh btw, you have a 968 in the 'other cars' picture section. While you're at it, why don't you put one of my car's pics up there as well?

Ribs, man...those stories about the Tempo were some of the funniest I have read in a long time! Nothing like busting out laughing at work and have the folks in the neighboring offices come over to see what the big deal is.

Keep 'em coming!

Ahmet...I found the superguy on collegehumor.com long before I ever owned a 944...kudos on the 951 porn though...I'll put a text caption or something later (shaun was the one who originally linked them to me though). Sorry you don't like japanese cars (rx-7s?)...I happen to think that FD3Ses are some of the prettiest cars (as well as extremely capable) ever made and plan to buy one some day. I found a couple of action pictures and other nice pics in your gallery and am going to put them up later today. Oh yeah...the 968 racer in the other cars section, as well as the 944 cop car...If I remember, I'll move them up to where they belong.

I am going to have a section devoted to personal anecdotes, dating stories (I'll have to tell you all the stinky puss story sometime) and other fun stuff in the near future (when ever I have free time, which, being at college without a job currently, I seem to have a lot of). I'm glad you enjoyed my car tales. I have a few more, but I was tired when I was writing those, so I will update that section as well. I don't have class tomorrow, so I will probably do a massive written content update as well as a few pictures and the such.

ribs - you crack me up man. That is some seriously good writing, especially the Tempo story - you should consider publishing a series of short stories based on your experiences and selling them to Road and Track to replace Peter Egan's dated column "Sideglances"

I'm glad you enjoy my writing . I know the column you are talking about...that guys writing is usually pretty ...I know I could out do him anyday. I'm going to focus on putting a load of more stories, car related and not (the stinkypuss story is one of my favs, and I posted it somewhere on the rx-7 forums so I don't have to retype the whole thing...just spit-shine it and load it up there), and correct all of the gramatical errors I currently have on my pages (I have a tendancy to write sentances with many parenthesis in them and they always end up being like 100 words per sentance, not to mention I wrote that entire page in a little under an hour without proofreading...I was suprised it was as coherent as it was). I was also thinking of doing a kind of everything/nothing style webpage that would be updated a couple of times a week with stories, editorials, and of course a ton of pictures and stuff...I will see if I can set something up, and hopefully people would read it.

Unfortunately, tripod doesn't let you host pictures from their servers...a link will probably work though....: http://hotspoons.tripod.com/images/coolstuff/20010505008.jpg
*warning...contains gorgeous girl's buttcrack...if you are offended by this, don't click it*

[edit]link doesn't work...if you really want to see that picture, you are going to have to copy the URL and paste it into a new browser window...stupid f'n tripod[/edit]

I'm glad you like it...I will probably update it tomorrow (I guess that is really later today) so check back for more pictures, stories and stuff.

I do remember way back when (february I think) shaun had a chat in his 944 world site and he linked me to those pictures...did I miss any of the set? E-mail them to me if I am missing any.

SHAUN
Strange story...my friends had a crappy punk rock band (well, they weren't that bad, but they still sucked) called the heroin addicts, and all of their names for the band ended with something heroin related...I think it was...matt smack, eric trackmark, johnny heroin, and jason overdose. I helped them produce their first album (I did post mixing...the studio engineer they had really sucked, but i was able to get it sounding better on my computer), so they needed to give me a heroin-related name for credits on their album, so they came up with Richie Hotspoons, and ever since then, several of my friends have called me hotspoons, spoons, spuns, hots, and a couple other variations (not to mention ribs which came from one of my friends, jason from the heroin addicts, who was trying to speak to me while he was on 5 hits of acid and that is what he kept saying instead of rich...that name stuck too), so I have kind of kept that name as well as ribs for usernames and account names on the internet since they are a lot more unique than rich and typing out my last name is a pain in the ass since it is kind of long, so, there.
