Alright... I have figured out where my water leak is coming from every time it rains. Now I have to fix it.
I have a '92 968. The water drain tube, that runs along the inside of my A-pillar from the roof, seems to have disconnected (or something) from another portion of tube that goes underneath the hood. I validated the disconnect by: 1) Pouring water down the hose from the roof 2) Shooting water up the hose from under the hood There was water waiting for me in my passenger foot well in both these cases... Q1) Does this mean that they are disconnected, or does this mean there is a funnel type connection where the water should just falls through by gravity? I have taken the IP partially apart (on the RHS only) to get to the tube junction but I can't quite get there and I am getting to a point where I don't want to go disassemble it any further. Q2) Are there good instructions for the IP removal for a 968? It's not exactly the same as the 944s Q3) What other suggestions does anyone have to fix this... ? I'm done watching "The Weather Channel" to see whether I can go for a drive without getting drenched... Thanks all... |

Remove the passenger side A-pillar trim piece and see if you can push the drain tube back into the hole under the dash that gets the water outside of the car! You might be able to see this drain if you pop the hood and look under the trim above the battery!
if not you might try cleaning the inside of the hose with very small, very tensile wire that is flexible enough to make it thought the bends!

I'm with you... I already have the a-pillar trim off and I can see both the tube running down the a-pillar and the end tube extending out under the hood... I will try what you said pushing the end of the tube back up but I have no way of knowing if it re-connects. What does the junction look like?
Thanks... |
