Cam Tower Part Numbers 5r and 6r
Hi, I am in the process of putting back together the engine in my 84 944 (Got the head back on) and was looking at the cam tower I was going to install, when I saw something. The part number on the tower that was on the car is 944 105 250 5R and the extra cam tower I have is a 944 105 250 6R. Is there any difference?
Also, we noticed the cam tower I was going to put on is cracked, so I am needing one. It doesn't need to have the lifters or cam, just the tower. If anyone has one, let me know. |

I believe the 8v cam towers are all interchangeable. The late cams are a little more agressive (1 mm more lift and a little longer duration) than the early ones and is always a plus to drop in an early motor. Check the code on the cam.
