what is this code

i found these numbers on top of the bell housing when i removed the trans qm29084. can anyone tell me what this is im trying to find out if its lsd or not

Tranmisson is in the rear of our cars. Look in the trunk area where the spare goes for the options sticker LSD is 220

Hello, The first two letters "QM" on the flat top of the trans means it is a non LSD Trans. Yours must be a 1983 - 1985.1, 944.

year didnt have a impact on LSD, it was still a option for our early car's just not as abundant as the later models or turbo.

What he is getting at is you can determine if the transmission has a factory LSD or not by the transmission code. A n/a trans with LSD would start out with 8Q or 7V
