Hi,
I did a few searches before posting this. Is there an online resource for Porsche parts that are also the same part on a VW or Audi? For example I need a 944 105 131 00 which is a small plug that covers the hole in the cam housing right next to the distributor cap. This is a small part that costs less than $4 online. But with shipping becomes a $14 part in a hurry. Plus it would take over a week to get it. I though that if I could walk into a VW or Audi dealer, tell them the part number that matches the VW or Audi part number I will walk out with what I need and not have to #1 wait a week and #2 pay for the shipping. Any thoughts? Thanks, Joe Mama ![]()

Try calling the vw dealer first. However you will soon notice that alot of the VW parts are NLA.
I've looked at a lot of 944's and none of them have had that plug.

Yeah I thought it wold be a bit of a long shot to but it was worth a try.
For the future it would be interesting to see a cross reference of parts. Mostly bolts and misl parts. I've been sent to VW by my Porsche Dealer quite a few times for parts. One part, a spacer I think for the AC, was 1/3 the price at VW and the Porsche dealer couldn't even order the part anymore. Thanks for your thoughts. -Joe

Here is another solution until you put together your big order of parts from Pelican.
Get a short 1 1/2 inch tire valve stem new or used (walk around the parking lot of PEP Boys) and cut a portion of the top off. It fits snugly in the hole and looks OEM. ![]() Interchange pages: Not for the 924S or 944 series but it answers your question. Yea, that's a pretty decent "fix". But If you could find a grommet style rubber hole plug (of the appropriate size), it might look a bit better.

I only use "Porsche" valve stems
![]() The correct plug is $1.50 here on Pelican and I have 2 for/on my cars. Pelican Parts - Product Information: 944-105-131-00-M136 I just wanted to show a temporary fix until joemama orders more parts. Watch for photos of engine shots and count the number of missing cam housing plugs. Pelican offers free shipping with a $75 order and just a few little worn out parts will add up to $75 (like my Monday order). A new air intake boot, a couple of filters and gaskets. Cam and alternator belt, cam housing plug========free shipping ![]()

Glad to hear that, John. Anyways, I must have never seen the correct plug, because I had no idea they were white (must be made of nylon plastic). As for me, I really could care less about having that small hole plugged. But then my cars are not "show" cars, either.
