Steering wheel bolt size?

Hey guys, does anyone know what size the bolt holding the steering wheel on, is?

I got a wheel from parts heaven that I'm trying to install, and the walkthroughs I've found on the web all give different sizes - 27, 28mm. I bought a 27mm and it doesn't fit.
I don't want to keep running back and forth
to the auto store like a schlub.

^^Aaron but a garden hose washer inside a short 24mm socket it will facilitate the removal & installation of the nut & if you have one, a magnet on long flexible handle will really help remove & to slide in the washer that goes behind the nut in there.
