Porsche Crest Hose from air box. what is it?

There is a hose on the bottom of my air box (86 NA) thats torn up and I don't know where it goes, what its called or what it does. Its about 7 inches long. I'm thinking its a breather hose for the emissions.
Any vendors sell replacements?
Anyone have the diagram for the air intake?

Cheers

Without a pic, I am only speculating.. But the hose may be the breather hose going from the bottom of the breather box to the top of the belt cover/housing. This was intended to give fresh air to the belts. However, there was a tech bulletin which eliminated the hose to make the belts last longer. Both sides of the openings were to be blocked off.

thanks for that... My airbox has some (additional) electrical tape, and I noticed the top of the belt cover had a hole. I will cover that.

Looks like the hose that feeds cool air into the back of the alternator. Slide under the car, and see if there is a hose hooked up to the cover on the back of the alternator, if there isn't, that is most likely it, as I can't think of other hose like that under the hood of a 944NA. The breather hose is a rubber hose, not a paper/cloth hose. You can find the hose I am speaking of in the parts diagram, located at: MG 9 SG 02 Ill 902-00 (or easier look up, main group 9 electrical equipment, then scrool to "alternator with mounting equipment, it's part number 36 in the diagram (944.603.153.00)

Red.. -That hose was actually attached to the air box? That is not the hose I was envisioning and it is not the one I was referring to. I think that 89-944NA (phil ) is correct.
