Engine stand bolts
Ok, so I wanna put my old 944S engine on the stand for a rebuild... where can I get some bolts that will fit the block, and do I have to take off the clutch before I put it on the stand?
Local hardware store was no-go... and should I also get 2 nuts and a load of washers? Thanks in advance, Endat |

The crossmember bolts work well, depending on the stand, you will need a few washers so the bolts dont bottom out in the block first. The bolt is a M12, i dont remember the length but M12x75 or so should be good.

Thats a standard size, just go to a local place or Lowes and they should have them in the loose fastener bins. They should also have them on the fastener rack at any chain auto parts store, but usually come in packs of 2 so it can be pricey.

yea u need to take off the clutch cause the bell housing holes is where the stand is gonna attach.
2 of the bell housing bolts are long enuff to use with engine stand. u'll need 2 more. it's M12 1.50 pitch. 90 or 100mm try sears, true value, ace hardware. they carry them...cause that's where i just got mine. i'm in middle of a engine rebuild right now. just got the engine on the stand a couple hours ago |
