944S2 - won't start-smells gassy
Hey,
My 1989 944S2 refuses to start today. I smell a strong gas odor at the tailpipe. It has been missing at idle lately. What's going on - and what do I do ? |

Check for spark at the sparkplugs and go from there.

The problem was solved - by charging my battery.
My Die Hard is dying (after 2 years) and the low voltage was the starting problem - and the idle problem. I went to charge it and found a little over 9 volts. Is there an Optima 12 volt battery that fits a 944S2? I have the 6 volt version in my 356C - and I have had 2 of them last forever. Or is there a better 944S2 battery choice? |

I sometimes don't start and smell gassy too! Specially after a long night at El Torito.
Seriously, glad you got the problem sorted out.
