Nology Wires

Hey guys, anybody here used the Nology wires Pelican sells? If so is there any real noticeable difference in hp or performance? Need to do a good tune up to my 87 924S and have a little extra cash and was wondering if it'd be worth it or if i should hold onto my money. thanks!

I bought the nology hotwires and nology Coil. and have been in the car for years. But you definatly need a spark plug cable remover as they seat in realy well. As Far as performance I think it gave me a little more pick-up, seemed to rev up a little faster. The Fun part is getting a good ground for the cables because the block being all aluminum doesen't make for a good ground which those wires need.

If i had to do it all over again i would probly install a MSD Ignition and Coil Setup.

I just never found a spot were it would stay dry ( not sure if it needs to)

There is stuff all over the net about the cables and how they don't work.... do work... blah balh.. you be the judge.

You got money to spare, stick with the Bosche Silicon OE & new spark plugs they will last longer & do as good of a job as the Nology, money you'll save you can spend somewhere else, maybe a new dist cap & rotor.

Stick with stock and save your money, unless you plan to modify the car.

Save your money. I have a friend who is an electrical engineer and he claims that the Nology wires are all marketing. The rice burners love them because they look trick. If they did what they claim, there would not be a drag race car without them.

I have used Magnacor in my racercars for years. They are priced right and work well.

dont waste your money on extravagant plugs either, the quad tip will do you no better and can actually harm your engine. must keep in min your spark plug heat range, stick with what oem prescribes and be happy.

I will like proofs that the quad tip hurts a 944 -2.5 -N/A in any way ,I've run them on my 83-944 for many years & the motor is still running very strong & has no issues what so ever. I was running an ACELL electronic supercoil with them. The car will run smoother, acceleration was crisp & gas mileage didn't suffer one bit.

the reason you saw no difference is due to your modified ignition system. on a stock system the lower resistance of the quad/platinum tips can easily shorten the lifespan of the coil. wrong heat range plug can cause sever damage to engines, ive seen anything from melted pistons, to broken rings. manufactures dont tell you the bad stuff, go figure.

our engines are much more stout than the typical domestic but on stock system the oem is still best. quad/triple/double/platinum is mostly marketing and genius at that. say so much good and you think its good, so you stickm in your car and think its better when its not really any different.

Hmmm - not sure why the aluminum block isn't a good ground. The conductance of aluminum is better than steel so why would it be difficult to get a good ground?

Just wondering.

Using Bosch Wires with Nology M75 Ignition coil. It made a difference in my torque response much fatter on low rpm and exhaust tone changed when coil was installed.
Also using Iridium plugs as well.. Great combo for now that works good. Nology Wires? well May consider them in the future when i need wires.

Later...
