Continuity of distributor rotor???
Still trying to resolve a no spark issue. I have a new distributor cap and rotor. It seems that power is going into the distributor cap but not leaving it.(I think) I am trying to take readings of every wire and everything I possible can. I took a continuity reading between the two ends of the distributor rotor and got a strange reading.(new rotor) I already threw away my old rotor so I can't take a reading of that one to compare. Continuity between the center of the rotor and the end of the rotor gave me a reading of about 1100. I would have to assume that it should give a reading of 0. Can someone please help me out and see what kind of continuity reading they get on their distributor rotor? It would help so much.
-Thanks

It past quitting time now (my self-declared quitting time, anyways) on the east coast, but if nobody respond by tomorrow, I check both mine 4 U.
I WOULD NOT however, assume that something made of carbon should read 0 ohms.

Thanks wild man.
Carbon? Mine is brass. Black plastic with brass in the middle. That is why I am assuming a reading of 0. I was also checking continuity not resistance. Thanks.

Oops, my bad, it is the cap that has carbon in the center.
All right, I'll go out and check (only 1) of mine. B rite bak... These are the readings I got: rotor - 1122 ohms cap - 1090 ohms wires - approximately 3K/ft There you go. There is what looks like an epoxy-covered trough between the center and outer contacts on the rotor. There's probably a slab of carbon under the epoxy.
