Finding the ABS controller and connectors.

My ABS fault went away, and like these intermittent problems often do, has returned.

Can somewhere tell where I find the ABS controller brains, and an 8 pin connector that connects all the wheel sensors?

I've looked under the dash but I'm not sure what I'm looking at or for.
Cheers
Rissole

I've had the inner wheel arch cover off in the past and know that's where the pump is. From memory I think there are two relays on some sort of bracket behind the pump, and maybe a ground strap.

I don't remember seeing the 8 way connector and controller, but you think these parts are under the wheel arch cover too.? (I assumed they were somewhere on the inside). Are they part of the gubbins behind the ABS pump, with the relays?

The computer is inside of the car, and should be on the passenger side, behind the kick panel.

Good luck, Keith

The ABS computer is inside the car, passenger footwell. Remove the side carpet panel and you'll see it.

Thanks Bazar01,

I just whizzed outside to take a look: and you're on the money. Mine is RHD , and so is under the vertical RH carpet in the drivers foot well, but there it was. A damn site more accessible than I expected too. I shall have a poke about when I can, I will make some breakout leads to figure out what's happening, and if the wheel sensors are OK.

cheers
Rissole
