How many hours of labor do you think would go into a 944 NA to 944 Turbo conversion? Is this complete, or to make it work would I have to do something to the transmission, exhaust, etc...? I'm thinking about making a deal with someone, and here's what he has included:
newly(0 hours) rebuild complete 944 turbo engine. comes with.... computer and wiring harness new crankshaft and new bearings and seals all around. Every thing internal was cleaned up to spotless shine. pistons and NEW OEM rods with new rings head has been rebuild and has wide fire gasket put on. rebuilt fresh k26/6 turbo exhaust manifold update no cracks for quick boost intake manifold with with throttle body and TPS complete fuel injection new timimg and balace shaft belts with there rollers the flywheel with a complete sachs sports clutch. intercooler with pipes exhaust crossover pipe, rebuild wastegate. power steering pump, almost new a/c compressor almost new radiator, new turbo water pump stock air filter intake |

There has been one or two threads about this.
Basically it's like this; if you have to pay someone to do it, you can't afford it. It's cheaper to sell yours and buy a real 951. Expect lots of replies to this thread.........

ok, as you are obviously not go to listen;
Figure on 20 - 30 hours of labor at your local shop rate. The radiator won't fit as it's too deep, you have to change the lower support panel. The intercooler mounts have to be made up and the front inner nose panel might need 'modifying' The whole exhaust is different so you will need that. The wiring for the turbo water pump has to be installed. etc, etc, etc so, say 30 hours at $60 ph = $1800.00 allow for parts you need = 300.00 so we are up to $2100.00 You can buy a real 951 for $6000 or less so the engine and all the parts has to be less than $1900 to be even slightly near reasonable. And you end up with something that has the wrong transmission, brakes, suspension etc.... Hmmmmmmm

Do yourself a favor and don't waste memory on your brain's hardrive even thinking about it. Just buy a 951 if you want one.

I would either buy a 951 or buy the Speedforce Racing supercharger if I were to do it again from scratch.
