I have the opportunity to swap out my '84 AFM and ECU with a later AFM and ECU. I understand that the '85/2 - '89 AFM,s were identical. I will have an '86 AFM and a '88 ECU . Will that work , any thoughts?
Thanks |

Providing the ECU is for a 2.5L engine everything should work fine.

i did it to one of my 944s (the 83) so i could install a chip . i found no big plus from doing it . i tryed 3 brands of deferent chips . if the part can be had for free or real cheap i would also do it to the 84 944 i have . some state they get bigger gains than i got . my guess would be about 3 to 5 hp at best is what i got .

upgrade
I'm wondering that at the very least it would improve idling and overall a better running engine.
