crush washers ?

I need to put a new fuel pump on my 1984 944. do I need to use crusch washers for this install? If so what is the exact location for these washers and what size are they? Also why is there a wide price rainge on these pumps? Thanks ! Scuba Steve

I don't believe so. If anything, there might be some copper banjo bolt washers, which can be re-used (I think - I always have, anyways).

If i remember right its 3 washers total because you need to take the check valve off the old pump and put it on the new one, plus the banjo bolt. Replace them, crush washers are one time use.

Parts manual lists size as 12x15.5.

Price difference could be because there are many cheap-o made in China knock offs of the Bosch fuel pumps floating around. Buy from a reptuable place like Pelican, Paragon, Lindsey..etc and expect to pay about $200.

I put one of the Blue $75 fuel pumps on early this year. Lasted 4 months when it left me stranded at work.

Listen to what Techno Duck said.

I take it that my belief was a false one, then? I haven't messed with a porsche FP since my 1st 924, mannnnnnnnny years ago.

Message to anyone who took (used) the blue: It is bad (choice).
