Headlight Problem
Hey guys hopefully someone can help with a couple of problems i have!
Working on my 1981 924 2.0, and managed stupidly to short out a headlight whilst cleaning up the electrics. Problem now is the dipped headlights no longer work, front fogs have allways been faulty and do not work, but full beam is fine and side lights are fine. All grounds have been cleaned and secured, and all fuses are fine. Visually all the wiring looks ok, nothing looks to be damaged in anyway. Any ideas what this could be??? 2nd problem of many! windscreen jets do not work, when i pull the stork to activate it blows the fuse. changed the pump, grounded ok still the same problem. Also with the pump unplugged the fuse will still blow >< any help i would really appriciate!!! Cheers guys Damo |

For the headlights, check your dash switch. It's pretty complicated and is prone to failure since the 924/early 944 lights do not use any relay system.
Couldn't say for sure about the washer pump. You'll probably have to trace wires from the pump on back and will probably find one broken or rubbed through. On my 924S (not sure how similar it is in this department), there's a wiring harness that runs across the front of the car kind of inside the front nose/bumper area above a plastic air diverter for the radiator had a wire rubbed through and shorting out on the body, and I think it actually was for the washer pump. It had corroded inside so I had to cut and splice a new section before taping it all back up. Works fine again if only the dumb nozzles weren't clogged. Good luck.
