Universal Hatch Seal
Has anyone found a cheaper hatch seal. Maybe one that is used on a different car that would work or one that is universal that could be trimmed to fit. I feel that $130 is a lot of some weatherstripping.

I tried to find an old post of mine here but couldn't on this topic. I bought some from McMaster-Carr online perfect fit at least 1/2 the price. Search moldings/weatherstrippings on the McMaster Carr web site.

Here's a thread discussing a cheap & cheerful replacement:

Looks like one of them on there might work. McMaster-Carr There looks to be some that are similar. I'm just curious if it would work or not? |

Mcmaster.com go to sealing in left column, look for "Edge Grip Rubber Seals",
page 3438, Style #2, you will need to measure I can't remember which one I bought but it has been on the car 2 and a half years, no problems, no leaks, easy install. |
