Starts (finally) but doesn't run vid attached
So I finally got it all back together the work I did while not brain surgery by pp standards was definitely a task for a beginning wrench which I would have not had such an easy time with if not for the pp brain-trust and everyone who was nice enough to answer my questions and to all those people I sincerely thank you... anyway onto my problem.
It has been sitting for 2.5-3 months while I had everything off. So it took a while to start but once it starts it will idle for a little bit(maybe 10-15seconds or so) then just stall. I think the second time it started it ran for about a minute and a half and the gas pedal would raise the revs before I heard a pop sounded like a missfire or backfire and it idled for a few more seconds than stalled. Last time I started it up it only idled for a little bit and the pedal does nothing before it stalls sometimes it seems if I press the gas it just stalls so that's my problem.... Here's what I did. New Fuel Pressure Damper New Fuel Pressure Regulator New (used) fuel rail New (used) plastic J tube from afm to tb High temp paint on the intake manifold (the powder coat kept bubbling so just opted for paint) New vacuum lines rebuilt throttle body New Tps sensor injectors cleaned (Witchhunter) New Aos seals New oil cap seal and I think that's it Oh also the radiator fan turns on once I turn the key to on. But the same thing happened on my passat after it had been sitting for a while it went away after it drove for a little bit so hopefully this will do the same. The fan switch is pretty new. Don't mind the parrots they were pretty excited it started!

step 1: shut the birds up. i could barely hear the car, although it sounded like it was starving.
step 2: answer these...why did you do all of that work oriented towards fuel supply? and how did it run before you did all of that work? step 3: check fuel pressure. maybe your fuel pump is weak. step 4: take it easy on your "run-on" sentences ![]() |

hehe well my grammar can be atrocious
It was mainly work for vacuum stuff it had a fluxuating idle but ran allright and some of that stuff was while i was in there. The new fpr and fpd was because I crushed the fpr to get off the bracket and i figured I might as well get a new fpd. (i might mix up the fpr and fpd) Well new fuel rail because the hose that goes to the fpd was bulging at the bend and it didn't look like that hose came off so i just got a used rail from somebody on the board. I figured that the bend was caused by something as well and I got the injectors cleaned so I figured the other pieces of the rail might as well be replaced. Yeah, my friend suggested the tps wasn't adjusted properly and i read the thing on clarks garage and yeah I think that's my first step unfortunately the S throttle body is terrible to get to compared to the 8v or turbo. Anyway in Arizona for the rest of the week so won't be working on it much till the weekend or next week.
