fuel lines
i got one mech. saying to replace fuel line with factory parts, and another mech. saying cut out the old and replace with hose and hose clamps....... one says its a high pressure system and hose clamps are not real good, the other says different....
any input, cruzer, polishing the wheels for the sunday cruz |

It is generally not a good idea to replace factory lines with hose and clamps. The fuel system does operate under moderately high pressure. If you do go this route make sure the hose is rated for the pressure (most is) and double clamp everything. Also, retorque after a few days.
I wonder if there is some shop out there somwhere that could make up lines to your specs. It might be cheaper than going back to Porsche. Hope this helps, Jon Aborn |

Especially now that Porsche changed the part to three different parts. (it went from one big hose to 2 hoses and a coupler)
If you have the newer hose, you can just replace the one you need. If you have the older one, you have to tear the whole thing out - which entails moving, disconnecting etc, a good chunk of your rear suspension AFJuvat |

dont use fuel spray near the ignition system will cause a fire if you want another alternative use steal braided line and the right fittings
