Fuel Filter Replacement
I TRIED to replace the fuel filter yesterday and could NOT get the nuts on either side to loosen. I looked at the replacement filter and it looks like the these nuts are actually CAST into the filter casing. If the nuts don't move, how do you get the filter out?! I proceeded to let the car back down and gasoline decided to begin pouring out of the back of the car. Either I got the filter loose on one end or I kinked a fuel line while wrestling with the fasteners on each end. If I can't figure out how to remove the filter it'll have to go to the shop on friday.

The nuts on the fuel line do spin. Sometimes you need a little elbow grease and some penetrating oil to work them lose again.
After you get the filter off, wrap the threads with teflon to keep them from siezing up again. Hope you didn't kink a fuel line, they are a big PITA to replace. AFJuvat |
