Electrical disturbance

On my 83 944 when i put my foot on the brake pedal the oil gauge and fuel gauge needles jump.Is this a sign of of a problem in the fuse board,i was told that because of there position they can get exposed to water and start to corrode the connections. What would it take to remove the board and what would the cost be for one from an 83 since they are different from all others in there set up?

Voltmeter movement when brake pedal is depressed is normal on the 944, IMO.

they are both going to move because you are putting the electrical system under additional load (your turning the brake lights on), and the oil pressure should drop because the engine is slowing down.

One thing I think most of us with the older cars has found, is that the grounds get a little funky, and can cause all kinds of weird things to happen. I cleaned every ground I could find while chasing down an electrical problem. it didn't fix what I trying to fix, but it helped a lot of other things. The only time my gauges "twitch", is when I turn on the headlights.

I would start at the battery, and start cleaning up the ground connections.
