What is this plug for

I have this strange plug in on my 83 944 anybody know what it's for

Holly POOP batman!... thats for the 3 wire oxygen sensor.. wonder how it's affecting you're gas mileage

Waiting on parts not running yet i will look for the sensor and plug it in what about the green wire
this go to the sensor also

yepp O2 sensor!
green is the hot wire for the sensor. the two other ones are for heating element in the senor.

That plug if I remember well isn't connected anywhere,since your 83 has a one wire OS not a three.The green wire goes into the OS connector,left hand side on the firewall---- you migth have to zoom on it to see it clearly.In the second pic you can see the one wire leading to your OS.

the 83 came with a heated o2 sensor from factory, i also have the same setup.

Thanks someone cut the plug off the green wire i think i can make a new one that will plug into
the existing O2 sensor i will post after i try Thanks for all your help BTW cool engine
