Question temp gauge (on dash)

temp gauge on the dash stopped working one night before going 2 work....moved when ignition was on but wouldn't move with driving..(warm night too)

noticed plug (brown two pin connector to thermo time switch) had come adrift behind engine head...put it back on when i was out cleaning the contacts, (points,ignition,washers,e.t.c)

problem solved until later the same day when i drove 2 get the engine bay cleaned....fluttering every time i pressed the accellerator....!!...wildly too..!!

cleaned engine bay....

drove home...same problem...only less fluttering..!!

went back out a couple of hours later cause it was buggin me....and it was working again!!!

any thoughts...?? bad connection possibly, or is my thermo time switch going south of the border...??(this is the one under the coolant flange at the back of the head).

Smile not quite driving music

if Simon and Garfunkle had porsche's, their problems would sound like this......
(sung to the tune of "sounds of silence")

ok fellas here it goes,
time for more sensor woes.............
it started working now it's broke,
now it's going what a joke..................

are u going to work or not,
or am i going to lose the plot,
i tried a searchin for the problem....but the breakline.... i just couldn't find, the broken line....
and the vibration of the engine is buggin me to have a fit.......... its the pits......

and now it's working for a while,
until i do about a mile.................
and now the tranny sad to say,
is in a beaten way.......

are u going to work or not,
or am i going to lose the lot,
to fix the problem with no outcome, is driving me insane,
who's to blame.......
i should be fanging down the freeway but this problem is chewing time, no longer fine......
i'm on the line......

i know the problem's hard to find,
just make up your friggin mind.........
i couldn't fix it in a day,
and now it's chewing up my pay.........
my mind is going round the bend,
i'll get these problems in the end..................
