Dual Friction clutches

Can anyone give me some advice on whether I should fit a dual friction clutch in my S2 as advertised on PP.My S2 is about to become a track car but also used as a part time daily driver - street legal. Is the dual clutch so severe that it makes daily driving at modest revs, a pain? And are the gains worth it in an S2 that will be lighter but with the same power output as standard?
Thanks

Hey Richard

Are you doing the clutch job yourself? I'm in the middle of doing mine on my 1990 S2 and just waiting for the parts to arrive from the states. If you want to have a look at what is involved you are welcome. PM me. I'm in Greenlane, Auckland.
I'm exactly half way - old clutch out. old rear main seal removed, pilot bearing out, flywheel machined.

P.S. I went for Sachs spring centred clutch. Talk to Peter at Motor Science. He will give you another perspective.

I was really thinking I would go for the centreforce. I won't be doing the job myself either due to business pressure(and lack of skills), but when I strip the car down and cage it etc. I won't be doing any major mods to the engine(just dump the AC)but thought that if the centreforce was that much more effective and ok to daily drive as well I might as well go for it.
Having said that, racing, once you are off the line it seems to me the standard clutch would do just about as good a job on most tracks where we never need to hit first and mostly never hit second gear either.??

Am I correct in my belief that one surface of the CF/DF disc (FW side) is carbon fiber, and the other surface (PP side) is "standard" friction material?

I wonder what the results of a CF/DF disc vs. 930 disc (4-spring) would be, in terms of which one would hold out (up) the longest. My goal is also to not have to replace it again, after doing it once.

i *think* that one side is actually kevlar and the other side is 'standard' friction material. give me a minute and i will look it up.

edit: nope. you are correct. CF.

i also have the centerforce pressure plate.

i just abused the hell out of the car today at autocross. .2 second off the fastest time of day. i really need those coilovers.
