I have State Farm and am paying about $1200 a year for my '93 BMW and 2001 Triumph crotch rocket together. I asked about adding a 951, and it would add another $600 a year, so that would be just a bit more than you're paying now, except it would cover a 951, BMW, and motorcycle instead of just a 944.
I don't know if you've ever had a claim, but I've heard that Geico really sucks if you ever have to make a claim. My experience with State Farm has been that their customer service is quite good.

Only had one claim with Geico and they weren't a problem. If you can swing it, try USAA, they have really good deals (about $75/6 mos cheaper than geico) I'm paying about $650/year for mine.

Yep, thats what's killing you. you should see a drop once you hit 25 as long as you keep your record clean.

Do yourself a favor and do some cost comparisons every time your policy comes up for renewal.

Yep, if you have an agreed upon value for the car, definately make the car look as close to new as you can for them.

Hey, who ya calling old grumpus?!?!?

At 34, I'm paying $1700.00 for three cars (1989 944S2, 1992 Subbie SVX, 1995 Subbie Legacy) fully covered in the great state of NJ! (We pride ourselves with the highest rates in the nation!)

That leaves me with more $$ for track goodies....

Hmm...."Cool semi-grumpus" I guess I've been called worse!

Please send the links to other tracks for SportsCarGT my way: I'm hoping that Watkins Glen is one of them, as well as VIR.... Email: z-man@pelicanbbs.com

Thanks,

Old Grumus Here (45) !!!

Don't knock it... is one of the many old guy perks... and you will be here someday too!

I have USAA, my traffic record is a blank sheet, pay around $600/yr for SoCal.

944 listed as low (driving) mileage (5000/yr) vehicle, I pay more for my Korean commuter car (200/wk) - don't have the exact numbers here at work.

And I drive like a maniac (old guy perk) I can cruise 80 on the freeway and the highway patrol zip right past me.

I also have a 1975 Triumph Trident (not running - will probably be selling to partially finance purchase of S2)
