Rebuilding my 951

Hi,

For about half a year now, i own a '88 951. It needed some work. Did an oil and coolant job, new spark plugs, new spark wires, cleaned throttle body, new clutch, new torquetube and some other smaller things. All these things were pretty much calculated when i bought the car. The car is driving pretty good, but i have doubts about a couple of things. So, i decided, once i have the time (holiday for example) i will take everything out. Well, i'll leave the tranny, clutch and exhaustline for what it is (in good state), but i was thinking about things as: cooling hoses, gaskets, sensors (and it's connections), intake manifold, intercooler hoses, cleaning radiator and intercooler etc. etc.

This way i can inspect all the parts and clean/repair it or either replace it if needed. I will also have a look at the engine, but i think it's quite allright (maybe a head-job).

Any do's and dont's or other tips you can give me?

Thanks

Yeah, i know, i thought the same. But as my car has been in the hands of a bad 'mechanic' (still don't know how somebody can call himself a mech when he delivers cars off like mine) So, now i have a REAL Porsche mech, i'm sure that my clutch and drivetrain are in fine condition. But everything surrounding it really needs a good inspection, cleaning and sometimes replacing. For example, i'm not too sure about the head gasket, but the oil cooler might give me the well-known trouble as well. So why not do all this jobs at once and be sure of a good car for many years to come..
