Welcome to the forum!

The Glark's Garage link is a wonderful 'how to' source.

Clark's Garage Home Page

You do not need to take out the entire dash.

First welcome to Pelican dillenrocha___You don't have to remove the dash to get at your tachometer just the instrument cluster, being the first time your doing this you'll have to take your time & be patient, those are old care with all kind of parts that get very brittle over the years specially plastic one.Go on Clark's Garage Home Page once on the site click on (Garage Shop Manual ) then on the letter (G) on top of the page. This will give you all the procedures on how to remove your cluster. The hard part will be to disconnect & re-connect) the speedo cable, like said take your time ,before removing any connection make sure you mark them so as being able to put everything back together, also mark your steering prior to taking it off.GL
