Ignition issues, no spark
How much fun can one guy have with these cars? They're great when they're running and a nightmare when they ain't!!!!
1987 924S, mechanic's seem perfect, compression, timing on the mark. Normal no spark issues are right on, sensors, ecu, fuel pressure, injectors have pluse, just rebuilt and tested. Ran ECU Doc's DME pin checklist, here what I got (rest are on spec) Ignition coil (coil is tested and known good) ignition on, (pin 1 and ground) 12.4 volts, startp position dropped to 10.3 v in start position, no real pulse Idle switch show no continuity l(pins 2 and ground - throttle open Tach and upshift light (pin 11 and 21, ign. Off) no continuity, Volume airflow (pin 22 and ground) no voltage with ign. On All mechanicals are perfect and within spec. Not sure if any of the faults listed would prevent the car from starting, might cause a ratty running engine, but it should start? |
