Cruise control question
When i set my CC my car immediately jumps up 20mph. It will work ok on the freeway if i slow down to 55 so that it will jump up to freeway speeds. I would rather just fix this issue. ideas?

tell me if i'm wrong but the cruise maybe goes every time on the same speed?
maybe the reset function doesn't work and it goes to last memory??? if jump every time for 20 miles then sens to be a problem in the brain, velocity calculation??? the easyer thing is to try another brain if is not maybe something stucks the CC motor??? good luck |
Try adjusting the CC cable. The CC tempomat is located in the right rear (passenger side) of the engine compartment. Remove the clip and pull the cable off the bellcrank, try and push the bellcrank back toward the fender. If the crank does move back toward the fender, then loosen the jam nuts and adjust the cable to the attachment ball on the bellcrank. Retighten the jam nuts.

Do a search. seems like someone just wrote up something on how to fix that. Involves opening up the controller that is under hood, throttle cable is hooked up to it, and cleaning some contacts. I need to look it up myself.

Bad modulator unit. (Brain) sometimes can be reparied but they are redily available rebuilt for reasonable tax.
Not going to be cable if it is able to maintain that speed when it gets there. |
