944 Problems
So a couple of days ago i posted about how my 1984 944 overheated and the radiator hose to the reserve tank ruptured. Today i replaced the hose and the oil. I realized that the oil level was extremely low so i replenished that. So I starting it up today and I had even more issues! First off the oil pressure gauge is a zero and it would rev up to 3000 RPM is a few seconds after starting. What the heck is going on?

I see you got your Porsche.
Looking to buy a 944 and then the break down: 1984 944 Over Heating Issues v2rocket_aka944 could be right-usually so. Was the oil level extremely low when you bought the 944. Did you check? To loose a quart or so of oil----unsure of how much volume "extremely low" means.... is not good. Get some tools at Harbor Freight, compression tester and leak-down tester about $100 or less and do some tests. Compression-leakdown test Are your plugs oily? What color is your exhaust smoke? Did you have an oily film in the coolant reservoir that looked like brown milkshake? The compression/leak down test will confirm if the engine is damaged--heat warped head, rings, head gasket. Remove the DME/fuel pump relay before testing. You do not want the injectors pushing gas in the cylinders. GL John
