which is better

I got a 1985.5 944 n/a in a package deal more or less. every thing i have read on this forum has been very help full in deciding its fate. unfortunately it will stripped for parts starting next year. so what i need to know what places are best for selling the parts forums or auction sites? the main reason i ask is i have read that there have been problems from some sellers. so what do you prefer?

I'm just curious why someone would choose to dish out such an unfortunate fate onto a (perfectly good, I'm assuming) Porsche car, considering that there are already so many of them already out there that have sucommed to a similar fate, that it isn't really cost-effective to part one out. (I do have an 87 924S if anyone needs parts)

well you do know what assuming gets you. this car has been trashed i considered making a race car out of it. but the cost of just doing that i could buy one. i do not like this but such is life. i also have a #'s matching 79 camaro that is in great shape all there never been butchered that is facing the same fate because off paper problems. most people would not take the time or make the effort to at least part them out over time. they would just sell them to any scrap yard to be crushed which would you prefer?

That's not true at all....but to answer your question:

I would use both - here are some sites to try and sell your items.

FYI - First and foremost, figure out what exactly you have check here - http://www.connact.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq02.html
- Include the Porsche Part Number on every description
- Try to sell the entire complete car to the race car guys on the last site
- If the above yields nothing then try to sell the stripped tub to them if its straight
- Body panels are worth money too, to the racing crowd
- Use the PET (porsche part program) from online to determine what part is what if you don't know

- This site
- 944Online
- 944Spec.org
- www.clarks-garage.com - this is where the year/model identifier link came from
