Umm, I ahd just got done installing my new shift knob and...

I hear this rattling! Its not the knob itself, its the shift lever where it connects to the black shifter rod thingy. its held on there with a "C" clamp. Can can I shut it up! Also! Chaeck it out! This is what I did,... I had cut off the top of the shifter lever thing where the shift know goes on. It cut the levers traveling distance. It is so nice! Worked out great! I can use the OEM shift know but who cares i love this cobra knob! Sweet!

Hey, that rubber boot looking thing under the OEM shift knob, it that like sound padding? If so, with the cuff performance boots by momo, am I suppose to put one of those or somthing under the boot itself? Also. that black shift rod connected to the shift lever is sill rattling, and damn it gets annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks...

overkill,

What about the pin that the C clip goes on? Did it have a flat place wore in it or the weld broke?

Mabe you can put a Bellevue washer or two if the is too much end play on the pin.

If the noise sounds like that big black shift rod hitting the body, I would check the trans mounts.
