Got a $400 hold, got a really good price, shipping is lined up and my loan is in the bag. I just got to sell my 85.1 944 with in 2-4 weeks to pay back my wonderful girlfriend for the down payment. Which made this purchase possible.

That's the one in Dallas with the LSD thats been on the market for a little while, right?

I was thinking of having my uncle take a look at it for me but it sounds like it's going to a good home!

Congrats, glad to see another 968 will hit the road soone. But have a lot of ? in the back of my mind.I know it's a 93 black/black with a little over 100K miles on it.Do those peoples have any maintenance records of the TB/BSB/WP being done on her, also most important of all the "tensioner/lower-upper pads & chain" should be look at with this kind of mileage before you hand over more money.Don't want to sound negative here, but those are very important maintenance items which you should be looking into. And ask them if they are ok with you having a PPI done by an independant shop or mechanic who knows 968 like the back off their hand.Car seem in pretty good shape overall but hard to tell by one pic.At that price if you have maintenance records of what is mention above it is decently price for an 93.Try to send use more pics please interior/exterior/engine bay.And Wally don't forget keeping a 968 alive versus your 85.1 944 will be lot more expensive.

Wally___ car fax don't mean much , all it tell you is the car was never accidented & how much previous onwer it had.How was it mantain in all those years is a different ball game, what you need is maintenance records when buying a 968 or any P car.

I'm not gonna lie, it was kinda a impulse buy. Like I said I got a really good deal on car and shipping. I can't believe I'm gonna say this, they don't have records. :-0 Yes, I can here it now, "What a Dumb S*it". I was going to get a PPI from a good P mechanic in the Dallas area (anyone know of one) before I wire the money. But I'm in 400$ regardless. I was willing to put some money into it w/i the first 2-3 months off the bat. I know any used car needs something done soon after being bought.
Also Just put my car on CL and got few takers w/i a few hours. With that money and my Tax return I am willing to throw 2-3 k to fix the kinks. My wonderful GF said to spend the money on fixing it first before paying her back.
Does this sound like a half as plan that might turn out well in the end?

Been around P cars for a while now & in those forty one years I've learn not to trust anybody when buying them specially from cars dealer. Before buying, one should look around & ask other peoples which are trusworthty & know a little about the P car models you want to buy to look for you.I personally could had get you a 94 with all maintenance done showing a little over known 100K miles closer to you for the same amount of money & lot of goodies added to it.But let's forget it what is done is done. What worries me about this car is the unknown mileage, car fax state "odemeter problem reported true mileage unknown" so lol how many miles do this car really has? plus the lack of maintenance records and a solid PPI.Now it will be up to you to take a chance on it ,don't think no one here can't decide for you.Tell you something else, when I own my 944 I'll wrench it around & it was a pleasure simple & easy to work on,now the 16V 968 is a complete different animal & I will not enjoy wrenching on it.When I bougth mine 2 1/2 years ago it only had 78,651k klm but had been sitting for almost 5 years & taken out once in a while for a short drive, well friend you'll you believe that after a PPI the cost of bringing it up to date was over $2,500K that included all belts rollers /water pump/PS pump & wheels bearings at the four corners.Lucky for me the deal was that the guy I was buying from was paying for all parts & labor.Still end up costing me for all fluid change. So this just an example of how those car will dig a fast hole in your pockets. But on the positive side once well maintain they are one of the greatest car to own & drive around.

My uncle has taken his german cars to one place in Dallas for like 20 years. He says they is the best in the Big D. A couple air-cooled porsches and half a dozen BMW's.

Want me to email him and find out who he is?
