Meyle engine mounts
does anybody know if meyle engine mounts part # 414 375 0001 are proper liquid filled mounts or just rubbish solid rubber? i did the search here and on rennlist but answers are confusing. some says they are OE parts with grinded off P mark but buddy who sells these mounts says they are solid rubber. meyle web page in product details says 'hydro bearing'. does it mean liquid filled? your advice is appreciated before i throw money in it.

^^Don't waste your money on cheap motor mounts (they won't last ) as many 944 owner have found out, it's money down the drain. Our host (Pelican) sell the REIN motor mount which will do the job. Parts # 951-375-042-04-M203 quoted at $121.75 each.

that's what i'm trying to avoid - waste money. anyway, rein and meyle are porsche OE suppliers as far as i know? i definitely do not want solid rubber crap, just looking for decent hydraulic oe mounts, i don't care about 'P' mark, as long as the quality is the same.
anyone have experience with meyle? are they liquid filled or solid rubber?

I used Meyle mounts for my 83 NA and they only lasted a couple years. I redid it with the Rein mounts (which were maybe twice the price) and so far have been fine.

I did a lot of research a couple years ago after I ordered "OEM" mounts from Vertex and received Meyle mounts that were made in China. I was scared to put them on my 951. Some folks said Meyle was good and other folks said to spend the extra $$ and only go with genuine Porsche. Pelican was selling Corteco a couple years ago that was supposed to the the inexpensive OEM equivalent version. Now I see they are selling Rein. Didn't see anybody selling or commenting about Rein motor mounts a couple years ago when I was looking.
The two consistent themes from what I read others say about 944/951 motor mounts was (1) genuine Porsche will ensure you get the best mounts....and (2) to stay away from the really cheap $30-$40 ones like Hamburg Technic. Most of the folks who bought the OEM equivalent mounts seemed to like them with a few exceptions. I'd get the OEM equivalent ones that cost 80-120 range. I think the $$ for genuine Porsche is just way to much money for motor mounts. After a couple years and a couple thousand miles, the Meyles I have seam to work fine.
