need 924 help
Hi guy i have a 1989 924 that came in to do a upgrade to EFI and i need to know the pit fall with is car
1 the injector 2 manifold 3 crank trigger and so on i will post pics on the project when i start it

No i am not lost i do not need to mess this up it is a 924 turbo 2.0 engine and i have not come across one in a long time and i want to do this right

I did not find what i was looking for on that site
what i need most is know is what and where is the trigger wheel on this car before i fab one on to the front of the engine

It is there on the 924board.org
924 Turbo's are called 931's (internal designation) so the info is in the 931 sections. The ignition system used on the later 924 Turbo's (they only existed to 82) used the flywheel as the crank reference. So far, I don't think anyone has reported successfully adapting the stock S2 ignition system to be controlled by an aftermarket EFI. I can say that some research indicates the sensor can be replaced with a BMW unit, but that hasn't led to a connection with external control of a BMW's ignition solution. Otherwise the S2 ignition isn't bad compared to the earlier solutions. Injector pockets are available from 034Motorsports. Buy the 24mm units. Intake isn't too bad, plenum could be a little bigger. Turbo is a little smaller on the S2 compared to the S1 (helps improve spoolup) Really, really needs an intercooler (and/or water/alcohol injection) Cylinder head is the major bottleneck to power. Not easy to fix without lots of porting experience. Cooling system could be better, some (including the factory Lemans racers) found that reversing the cooling (cold water goes into the head and flows down to the cylinders) helps the combustion chambers cooler. Requires modifying the water pump and installing an external pump (whether electric or mechanical). Clutch and drivetrain are the same as the 944 and the suspension is mostly the same (aside from the steering rack and a few other bits) All of this info is on the 924.org site and/or the 924board.org, just need to do some google searches using "site:924board.org" and your search term. thanks for that the crank trigger is a bit of a monkey so i will fit one on the front end .I will use a K6 ecu on this .
